First, we are a larger than average family. We have 6 people in our household. We cook at home 3 meals a day so we use the heck out of a dishwasher and we wear them out. We run one 2x a day and have very hard water. Yes, we have a water softener but even with one, we still have harder than average water and appliances just aren’t made like they used to be. I figure 5 years is about the average life cycle these days.

Our last dishwasher was a Kenmore and we got a good years out of it. We broke it about once a year. In fact there was a part in the top that was simply a poor design element. We were able to pick this part up for $8 at RepairClinic.com and I highly recommend that site. But after 5 years of use and abuse if finally gave it up. The pump quit and we decided we wanted something newer. We didn’t have a ‘high-end’ Kenmore but it wasn’t a bargain basement builder model either. something in the $350 range 5 years ago.

Wow what a weekend.

Yet another long weekend of playing Mr. Mom.

C had to leave town with her mom to visit her grandfather in Texas. Being the super dad that I am I said sure, go for it, I can handle it. Look two weeks ago, no one got injured.

Overall this weekend, not much unlike the last one went pretty smooth. We chilled out at home. Friday night I went to the Funnybone comedy club with a couple friends while my father-in-law watched the kids. This was preplanned and since I put it together it didn’t make sense for me not to go. Had a blast. Tommy Davidson was the headliner and was a huge disappointment for the first half of his bit, but then he got on a roll.

Bengals are 7 – 2 and counting…

Wow what a game.

Beating the Ravens was critical, and doing it in their house even better. The Ravens are certainly hurting, but they are still a brutal physical team even without the likes of one Ray Lewis.

The Bengals however proved today that they too can be a physical team. They took some hits and dished out quite a few of their own.

Roll on Bengals roll on.

Maria’s first tooth!

Maria lost her first tooth tonight! Can you tell she’s proud?

We talked about it all the way home from picking Molly up from gymnastics and after dinner at Wendy’s.

When we got home I told her to get ready for bed and that if she wanted me to yank it to bring me a paper towel, if she didn’t go ahead and get in bed.

Low and behold she showed up beside me with a paper towel. I tore off a piece and said, here you try first, put this over your tooth and pull, it should come right out.

She did, and it did. Her eye’s were as big as saucers. 🙂

It bled, but she didn’t get upset. She couldn’t wait to write Maggie a note, and put it in the bag for the Tooth fairy.

She’s a tough cookie… Molly almost passed out the first time.
