And Soccer has begun…

Maria had her first game last Saturday. It was hotter than h***.

The Purple People Eaters got schooled for the first 3 quarters of play until they wore the other team out. Maria played very well; actually they all did considering they’ve only had I think 1 practice maybe two? I know Maria has only been to one. Her Gymnastics schedule sort of conflicts for the first couple weeks. She played most of the game. Front line too until she got tired then they put her on defense. Her attention span is a little longer than last year.

She made some great plays when it counted.

Jack Handy Today’s is a keeper

It makes me mad when I go to all the trouble of having Martha cook up about a hundred drumsticks, then the guy at the Marine land says, ‘You can’t throw chicken to the dolphins. They eat fish.’ Sure they eat fish, if that’s all you give them. Man, wise up.

Blow Out!

Horse Trailers, Grrrrr.

Claudine was supposed to take Cisco to the dentist. Yeah, that’s right, horse to the dentist. Sure your vet can float your horse’s teeth, but we use a guy who does it a little differently. The natural way, without sedation.

Well that was the plan yesterday, but on the way one of the tires on the trailer decided it didn’t want to go. Luckily Claudine wasn’t too far from home and I was able to break from work and go change it for her. We mounted the spare which was in pretty bad shape itself and got everyone back home.

We’re getting two new tires now, and hopefully Cisco will get to see the dentist before he leaves town.

(It’s always something)

Premature Pool Closing

Well, it wasn’t by design.

Bear in mind that I wasn’t there so I’m relaying this third party. Apparently Claudine went out to investigate why the level of the pool was lower than usual. She went to check the pump area, the area where normally a hose pops loose or something of that nature.

There she discovered, water bubbling up from under the pool. We had our very own chlorinated spring. She was able to feel up under the edge of the pool and feel a hole about the size of her finger and she called me and asked me what to do about it.

I said “Patch it???. Go to the pool store, they sell underwater patches.

So off to the store they went. Apparently Claudine couldn’t stay underwater to get the patch applied so she sent Michael into the pool. He got the patch on the hole. As he climbed out, Maggie screamed something to the affect, “It’s getting bigger!??? and away it went. The hole just grew until…

Well, I haven’t seen it yet, but apparently it only took 30 minutes to drain the pool. That’s not a good thing.

Apparently the moles decided they didn’t like living under our pool anymore and came up for air, as the liner fell into a mole run, they decided it was in the way and poked through it causing the hole, something like that.

Photos later.

Perhaps next year or the year after, we’ll go with an in-ground pool, something with a harder liner.

Last Weekend Was Maria’s

First her Soccer officially got underway. Well sort of…

At least they got their uniforms and pictures taken, this was a first, last year they didn’t get their uniforms until the day of pictures which if I recall right was about the day before the season started. She hasn’t had a practice yet which is pretty good for this league.

Then on Sunday she had her very own Gymnastics meet. Well the level one’s had a Meet Expo kinda thing to to show off their skills. Maria did us proud. She’s quickly following in her sisters footsteps.

Lots of photos in the Gallery:
