Buca di Beppo

A couple of weeks ago, on a Sunday, (The week the Bengals dropped to 4-4), we as in the family we got together at Buca di Beppo for lunch. This lunch was my dad’s birthday lunch. The girls were already dressed up because they had a play to go too.

It was a nice enough day for a ride so when we arrived at Buca di Beppo’s we found my dad napping at the IronButt hotel. We pulled up right next to him and honked the horn but he didn’t notice it was us.

That’s what happens when you get old, as in 60 years old.

This was my first meal at Buca’s. For Italian it’s ok. Everything is served family style in big dishes. The plop it down on the table and you go at it just like you’re at home.

calamari

Their Calamari is pretty good, but it’s also hard to screw that up too. I mean deep fried squid, is pretty much deep fried squid. I love it… Yeah it’s kind of like chewing on a deep fried rubber band, but there is some flavor, especially when the dipping sauce is good.

For the main course we had Lasagna (about a 4 on a scale of 1-10), some lemon pepper chicken (Mom’s favorite), some other fuchsine noodle dishes and of course salad. Lots and lots of salad.

The ambiance at Buca’s is pretty average Italian fair. Lots of photos everywhere, your standard red and white checker table cloth.

Our server treated us pretty well, amazing actually considering he had to dodge a couple children that couldn’t be contained.

It was good to have a nice meal with the family.

Full size photos in the Google Gallery, yes I’m aware there isn’t a photo of Michael.
It’s not because we don’t love him, we do, but I didn’t take that many photos and, well, the ones I took just didn’t have him in them. 😀
