Shipping costs: $35.00 for the lower 48.
- Once we cross 10 orders, shipping will be FREE.
- If 905 Racing doesn’t get 10 orders by end of business on Monday the 26th, then Shipping charges will apply and they will contact you to collect those additional funds.

I had trouble getting this 3rd party system to accept my Credit Card at work today, but it worked this evening from home. Stephanie indicated it works better off-business hours and if there’s any trouble to simply contact her.
Stephanie at 619-210-3787
Group Buy Drop dead date is: [1/31/2009] if you order after this date you will not get the group buy pricing.
In the event that the number of orders we have does NOT meet a QTY of 10 by the drop dead date,
Stephanie will contact all purchasers to pay for shipping ($35 in the lower 48).
Please shoot me a PM or shoot me an email when you place your order with your forum name and the date/time of your order. If you’re sending me an email do so to: matt(at)dishers.com. I don’t need or want any personal information, just want to keep tabs on how this turns out.
Read and understand the following:
All orders will be for BLACK bars, front and rear.
If you’d like them powder coated in Black Cherry to match the bars that these were modeled after you need to do the following:
1) Place your order
2) Contact Stephanie at 619-210-3787
3) Give her your name and order number and she’ll let you know how many others are going with this color and what your up-charge will be.
4) Pay her, with CC over the phone and you’re done.
5) Sit back and wait for them to be made and shipped.
or
Get them in the the stock BLACK color and have either 905 ship them to Gary or you receive them, check them out and ship them to Gary yourself.
Gary estimated he can paint them in any Matching Color for $75 + shipping for a full set or $50 plus shipping for a half set. See his post #72 here.
Updated Q&A
Can they estimate the shipping costs.
A: $35 to lower 48 States
Does this include any/all mounting hardware?
A: Yes all mounting hardware and installation instructions are included.
What is the cost for the additional powder coating?
A: Additional colors are a $55 setup charge which may be shared among multiple purchasers of the same color, this cost will be something that you’ll need to work out with 905 racing AFTER you place the order for a BLACK set. They will freely admit they have ONLY matched the Black Cherry, any other colors are at your RISK for match. The cost for Black Cherry is $55 per set, or $35 if two or more people order Black Cherry. Apparently they can only plate 2 at a time.
B: See above, Gary can also paint them to match if you don’t like the colors that 905 has.
Can multiple buyers split the setup charge?
A: Yes, but your ’share’ will be dependent on how many other order the same color, see above apparently that limit is (2).
Can you only buy the fronts or just the rears?
A: Yes, the cost for either the front or the rear is $150 each during the group buy.
How long will it take to get them?
A: These are custom made to order, so 1-2 weeks from the close of the group buy.
What are they made of?
A: These bars are Steel (Mild Steel, what ever that means). They are listed on their website under Race Bars but I was told they are heavier than their race bars but don’t qualify as ‘Stunt’ Bars.
Does it interfere with the oil filter and oil filter changes?
A: According to George, who has the set in the photos on the 2007 model, the answer is NO. That looks like a stock Yamaha filter, not a Purloator, which may be larger.
Why are you doing this?
A: Cause I wanted a set, and I figured, what the hell, they will be cheaper if we can get a group to buy them. I have certainly spent far more time, energy and effort doing this than I would have imagined and have certainly negated any personal savings.
Will these wreck my frame if I crash?
A: I have no idea, but I tend to think these are far more frame friendly than those aluminum sliders I have now. They also protect the lower engine casing and do a better job at fairing protection than what I have now.
Will the rear end really hold up?
A: I have no idea, these are designed to protect the bags, and it looks like they will. George reports they saved his bags, but I don’t know the extent of his ‘get-off’.
Will these fit on a Gen 1 (2003-2005)?
A: I have no idea, there is speculation that they will. It may require a hold drilled in your fairings, it might not. I believe there is one person in the group buy who’s willing to take the chance. If’n I was you, I’d wait for confirmation. These were not designed for a Gen 1. George’s 2007 Gen II was used as the model and we know they are different. There is no guarantee they will fit a Gen I and I would wait for conformation before plunking down my monies. But then again, I aint you and I have one of the newer (faster) FJR’s.
Why don’t you have all the anwers?
A: Because I don’t have a set yet, they’ve only made one set and unfortunately the person I’m dealing with doesn’t make them herself. She doesn’t have all the answers either. I could wait for ALL the answers or I could move forward, because I personally, am happy with what I see for what they cost.
Where are the photos of these things?
A: Here… I’ve posted them on my Google Picasa Site for redundancy.

Disclaimer:
- I take no responsibility for these bars, their worthiness, or value, though I fully intend to participate, purchase and install a set myself.
- I am representing to the vendor that we have X people interested, again to get the best price possible. I have no ties to this vendor and should they turn into a complete schmuck, you agree to hold me harmless as I’ll be in the same boat as you.
- I gain nothing from doing this. GMC gets the credit if any credit is to be given as he’s the one that got them created in the first place.
