Rest easy Bengals fans, Marvin says; “We’re Fine”

All Bengals Fans know Marvin Lewis is “The Man???. But we also know he’s a pathological liar as well. There’s nothing wrong with being tight lipped at a press conference, or forever being the optimist.

But come on Marvin, for crying out loud. (pull)“We’re fine, we’re onto the Baltimore Ravins. It’s an important game for us.???(/pull)

Well no kidding, important? Yep. Critical more like it, A lost to Baltimore would be dare I say it, very upsetting, but a win could right the ship and fix a lot of things. Yes winning does calm the savage Bengals fans. But we’re not stupid Marvin. We’ve noticed that even our wins this year haven’t come as easily as they should.

We haven’t put teams away like we should have put them away. Tampa Bay… What was that?

We could easily be sitting 2 and 5 like Pittsburgh but we’re not. The Steelers game and the Panthers game could have gone the other way very, very easily.

But hey, we’re not, we’re 4-3. Marvin, it’s time to come clean. I can appreciate you not wanting to ‘divulge any secrets’, or ‘feed the upcoming team any info’ and certainly you don’t need to. We have Dave Lapham for that, he explained it on the radio just what your facemask play is. Nice… So if Carson looks over and see’s the DB giving Chad lots of room he touches his face mask. That’s the quick out. Uhuh, nice Dave, thanks for giving that to Baltimore. So pick a new signal this week. Mix it up too so they can’t key on that.

What we want to hear from you at a press conference is to call out the plays, the mistakes, and shoulder some accountability. We know you’ll fix it, we just want to hear it.

I for one am worried. 8-8 is looking good at this point, and 8-8 isn’t getting us in the playoffs this year.

I’m worried that we’re not that good this year. So show us that we are. Show us that that 3-0 start (7-0) with pre-season, and the end of last season, the post season that never happened wasn’t a one time fluke.

I don’t want to hear “We’re Fine??? when it’s clear we are not so fine.

Bengals going backwards 4-3 as Atlanta takes them in a shoot out.

I’m not a professional sports coordinator, but the Falcons didn’t do much different this week than they did last week. How Crumpler could be so wide open is beyond me.

(pull)I know the Bengals offensive line has ISSUES, but with the weapons we have, you have to adjust.(/pull) Change some plays so that they aren’t the same telegraphed screens and quick outs to the running backs that get us zero yards.

Those don’t seem to be keeping the defenses honest or taking any pressure of Carson. When a team can rush three and still sack the quarterback and force a fumble, that’s pretty sad. Once again Carson spent too much time on the ground.

Rudy again had some reasonable gains, but there isn’t enough consistency there to keep a defense honest either.

The Bengals have talent, but they aren’t using it effectively. Again, I know the line is beat up. It’s almost non-existent. That seems to happen in the NFL when you dump a lot of money in something does it not? You also can’t give teams two years to look at the same stuff. You need to change up and improve.

Are other teams catching on? I think so.

Come on Marvin, after the way Atlanta played in against Pittsburgh you should have expected nothing less. In fact what you got today was no different, not at all.

Bengals 4-2 after unimpressive victory over Panthers

But hey, a win is a win, and Chad got his plays in.

The Bengals skated by 17 – 14. They again came out strong, going 3 and out on their first 4 possessions and looked horrible in the first half. Amah Brooks is for real. He’s a monster, no doubt about it. As he settles in he’s certainly going to be a force.

The anemic offense did march down the field with some help from the Jaguars and the men in stripes, and they did make a few key plays when the needed to.

I really wish they didn’t leave us hanging the first half of every game.

Giving credit where credit is due, the defense played pretty well, as did dare I say it, Rudy.

Given the points the Atlanta put up today against the Stealers, next week should be a shoot out. I haven’t yet read what knocked Big Jen out of the game.

But I’m still concerned for our offense, more so than the defense.

But Chad’s catch on 4th down, well, that’s the Bengals I’m looking for.

Moes Southwest Grill vs Chipotle

moes150 VS. Chipotle150

It’s no secret that we love Chipotle, heck who doesn’t.

We’re certainly open to new and exciting options, heck Chipotle is always busy. A co-worker told me about Moe’s. His descriptions went something like this: “It’s like Chipotle, only better. Everything is milder, and there are more options. They have a salsa bar and give you free chips too.???

Well I’m in the camp that Chipotle is as spicy as you let them make it. Their mild salsa is tasty but isn’t spicy at all. I love spicy, I love their HOT stuff, I just can’t eat it anymore. I can’t handle what it does to me. But that’s beside the point.

I know my mother in law thinks Chipotle is spicy too, don’t know how or why but she does. So when we had the opportunity to go out today I thought we’d try Moe’s

I heard it was milder, and figured what they hey.

Let me tell you, it’s milder all right, so mild it’s almost tasteless. At Chipotle, one of the beautiful things is you see them cooking the chicken, and steak behind the assembly line as well as sautéing the peppers and opinions, etc. At Chipotle, the chicken is seasoned, and flavorful, and it’s clearly chicken, the steak, is steak.

At Moe’s, the chicken, well, its mush, it’s barely distinguishable from chicken of the sea out of a can. When was this cooked? Is it really chicken? At Chipotle, its pieces of chicken and you can watch them slice it up. The Chicken at Moe’s kind of looks like it’s been through a blender so you can’t tell what it is.

I had a burrito bowl; I looked at the chicken, couldn’t recognize it as chicken and opted for the steak. That too was a mistake. I think they get the parts that Chipotle tosses aside. Rice, black beans, sour-cream, cheese, salsa, all the fixings I’d get at Chipotle. It looked comparable.

I got chips too. In the back you can see big plastic containers full of chips. The same plastic containers we keep clothes in under the bed. I don’t know if they make their chips like Chipotle does. But they don’t put lime on them, nor does it appear salt. I figured, they have a salsa bar, so that might make up for it. I do know Chipotle has been getting a little cheap on the salsa with chips lately at least the last couple times I’ve been there.

I gathered a couple cups of salsa from the salsa bar, their gold standard, and the green salsa. Both were weak. Mild is even too strong a word. I could have just smooshed a tomato on the chips and that would have added more salsa flavor if you ask me.

Thier medium and hot sauces…  No…  Not good either.

The Burrito bowl? No good.

Moe does not know burritos. My wife ordered hers fajita style, yet got no peppers or onions. What?

Moe’s Blows, Moe’s does not know burritos. Moe’s does not know flavor nor value, Chipotle forever, Moe’s Never.

Wow, Cast Handstand part II

Saturday I took Molly to gymnastics to watch her do it…

During bar warm-ups when they cast about 400 times I didn’t see her get more than 3/4’s of the way. But then again that’s like doing a 100 pushups, I’m not a coach, so what do I know.

I didn’t see anyone else in her rotation do it either. Then Ms. Cindy lined them up and they all jumped on a high bar one at a time to give it their best shot. At first I wasn’t sure what they were doing because the first couple girls only casted to horizontal. But they looked great, nice and tight form, etc, etc.

But Mrs. Cindy didn’t seem happy, I figured they were supposed to be casting to a handstand.

Then Molly climbed to the high bar, after watching her during warm ups, I thought, no way, she has to be tired, then *wham* from nothing to handstand just like that.

Then as she started to fall over the back side, instead of just letting go of the bar and falling into the pit, she pirouetted around and grabbed the bar and swung down. I thought Ms. Cindy’s eyes were gonna pop out of her head 🙂

I was so proud, it was sweet.
