Who Dey! 3-0

Who Dey! Not the Pissburgh Stealers that’s who.

This weekend a group of (4) outstanding, and classy Cincinnati Bengal fans made the trip to Pittsburg to see the game and get what’s owed to us.

It was a guy thing so we had a lot of fun. Headed up Saturday, dropped off our stuff at the Hilton, went to Ruth Chris for a most delicious steak, then out to a bar (ended up being the bar at the Cheesecake factory of all places) then to see Jackass Two.

Yeah, guy stuff.

Then Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Hit the buffet at the hotel and wandered over to Stealer (yes that’s spelled right) territory.

Let me tell you… For the most part, football fans are football fans there are jerks everywhere, but Pittsburg has way more than their fair share.

A little hooting and hollering is expected. It’s all about the rivalry. Nothing wrong with being proud of your team, or even being pompous, hat too is expected.

But here’s the problem, being rude and vulgar to visiting fans, calling them f*ing garbage, is totally classless. The biggest part of this is it never happens where there is more than one Bengal fan around, but if you happen to find yourself alone, prepare to just get hammered with white-trash, insults. It doesn’t matter if kids are around.

There were Bengal fans that got egged walking to the game, totally lame. I thought Cleveland was trashy… Pittsburgh set a new low.

But we got what we came for. We are 3-0 while they are 1-2

We live for the now, they rest on their laurels of 5 super bowls. Don’t get me wrong. We’d love to have 5. But (4) of those happened back before these retard fans could even walk back in the 70’s. Maybe they’ll figure that out some day.

Let them continue to live in the past. I think the best part about it all was listening to Pittsburg radio on the way out of town. They are already after Cower…

Classless.

Photos of our adventure can be found here.

I will give Pittsburgh this. They got a way better deal on their stadium. Heinz field to be renamed Marvin Lewis Field for 2007 because Marvin is 3-1 there. Is nicer than Paul Brown and cost about 150 million less too.

Good Ol Jack.

Bengals 2-0

Bengals 34, Browns 17

Of course I’m a nay sayer at times. While the Bengals did put up 34 points, they gave up 17 to a completely inept offense. For the most part the defense looked stellar, and the offense sputtered a bit.

It doesn’t show in the numbers, and a W is a W, so I’m happy, but…

For all intents and purposes the Bengals did man-handle the Browns, it never really was a game. They suffered some injuries, some key injuries to Pollack, Braham, and Jackson, all not good, and Sir Chad bruised his shoulder but continued to play.

The Bengals are for real, the next two weeks in my opinion will define the season.

At Pittsburgh and New England at Home. If the Bengals are 4-0 going into the Bye week, they will be 2-0 in the division and that will be HUGE.

FJR Maintenance Day & Barbarian Modification

Well at just over 6400 Miles and a weekend of hard riding last weekend it was time to look things over and do a little maintenance.

At the very least we needed an oil change though 3,000 miles is pretty short for today’s oils. The Yamalube was a little dirty but not bad at all when I drained it. I opted for 10w-40 Castrol this time. It was one of the few oils I could find without the friction modifiers so I thought I’d give it a go.

Also figured out that a FRAM PH7317 will fit my bike as well. That too will save me some dough, all though I do think the Yamaha/Denso filters are probably a little better filters overall, the FRAM should be just fine.

On tap for changes this time was the Barbarian modification.

For the 06 model it’s pretty simple. You peel off some plastic on the left side of the bike, expose the main wiring harness.

Unplug the big connector, push the plug out of pin location 25, remove the wire from 23 and move it over into 25, insert the plug into 23 and put everything back together.

This is all sounds pretty simple and it was until you break that orange/yellow wire. Grrrrrr….

Anyway we’re fixed and we’re good to go.

What this is supposed to do, is expose the CO level adjustment interface in the diagnostic menu. Then you can adjust the CO levels for each of the cylinders, giving you smoother (richer) off idle throttle response, and potentially, perhaps a cooler running bike too.

I haven’t taken it for a ride yet, but did adjust the levels +7 across the board as recommended. (Remember all manufacturers set everything lean as can be from the factory to appease the EPA).

My values were:

INITIAL Change to +7:

C:01 5 C:01 12
C:02 18 C:02 25
C:03 18 C:03 25
C:04 21 C:04 28

I wanted to resync the throttle bodies today as well but ran out of daylight. Will do that maybe tomorrow or on an upcoming weekend.

Total cost of today’s maintenance? Oil: $12 (on sale) Filter: $4.50 (already had the crush washer) Barbarian Mod, FREE.
